I swam 4 miles in the first ever Got2Swim event 11 years ago. This photo is of me and my friend Pat who also swam that day. Pat is a great swimmer...me, not so much. I was the next to the last person to swim in. I did not care because I knew I did my best that day and I had the Best Day Ever on the water challenging myself to help others. I had never swam 4 miles prior to that day. I have not swam 4 miles at one time since that day.

This year with the event being "virtual" I decided to participate and actually log some miles of swimming while I am fundraising. Saturday, July 18th I swam for about 20 minutes total. I have no idea how far, but that is longest I have swam in years. It was in Lake Travis with my "water guardian" aka my wife Misty, watching from the dock and my friend Pat by my side. We are both getting back in the water, slowly. It is not about how far you go, it is about the ripple you make into the lives of others with your actions, however, big or small.

Help me ripple into the lives of others by helping Colin's Hope raise much need funds to keep their mission alive and continue to spread Water Safety through swim lessons, water safety lessons and their amazing Water Safety Curriculum that they sell and donate to area schools, day cares, community centers, etc.
