This will be Anna's 6th Year participating in the Colin's Hope Kids Triathlon, raising pledges in memory of Colin Holst and the many children that have sadly been taken too soon from drowning accidents. Anna's goal each year is to exceed her Fundraising Goal from the previous year and to have a ton of fun! Last year she raised just short of $1000 for this awesome cause and would love to smash this total this year!

Colin's Hope was formed in 2008 after four-year-old Colin Holst tragically drowned in a public pool with lifeguards on duty and family members present. Fueled by their desire to prevent such a tragedy from happening again and again to other families, Colin's parents founded Colin's Hope to promote water safety in their community and to educate children, parents and lifeguards on drowning prevention. 

Believing that a few simple tips and rules might make a difference in the life of another child keeps them passionate about their new purpose and their angel Colin is guiding them every step of the way! Through their hope... and Colin's hope... they are finding light in the darkness. While no-one is drown-proof, drowning IS preventable!

Hi Everyone!

Did you know that 91 Texas children lost their lives to a fatal drowning last year? Or that 5x as many children survived a non-fatal drowning? We didn't. So far, at least 75 Texas children (just like us) have lost their lives to a fatal drowning! Too many of those have been right here in our community. Drowning is PREVENTABLE, yet drowning is still the #1 CAUSE OF UNINTENTIONAL INJURY-RELATED DEATH for children under 5 and a leading cause for ages 1-14.

As young athletes (who swim...and bike and run), we want to make a difference!  Guess, what? You can help us do exactly that. We are participating in the Colin's Hope Kids Triathlon on Sunday, August 25th. Over 400 of us will swim, bike and run to raise funds and awareness for drowning prevention and Colin's Hope. To learn more about how Colin's Hope is preventing drowning you can view Our Story on Facebook or YouTube. 

We are TRI-ing to honor and celebrate all the children who have lost their lives to a fatal drowning or who have survived a non-fatal drowning. You can learn more about their stories here. When you read about all the children who have tragically drowned and see their faces, we know you'll want to help.
