From Alan: I’m training for the ironman triathlon in Wilmington, North Carolina this fall, and I figured it would probably be a good idea to have swam 2.4+ miles before the morning I have to swim 2.4 miles amongst hyper-competitive thrashing people (and maybe sharks?). So I'm really excited to participate in the Austin 10k swim and support Colin's Hope in their efforts to promote water safety—without the sharks.
From Chad: Inspired by the mission of and the challenge associated with the Colin's Hope 10k swim relay, I will be joining my relay partners Alan & Katharine in an effort to increase awareness of and prevent childhood drowning by Colin's Hope. Please join us in this fight and step up to make a donation in honor of the 90 children who have fatally drowned in Texas so far this year.
From Katharine: After being sidelined for several years due to an injury, I'm excited during my year as Chair of the Colin's Hope board to be back in the water for this year's 10K swim!
We will be in the water honoring the 90 Texas children who lost their lives to drowning this year already, and raising funds to support Colin's Hope mission to prevent these tragedies from occuring. Drowning is preventable!
Please help us reach our fundraising goals and help support this wonderful organization by any donation amount. The need for our programs is great, and every dollar goes a long way.
What your donation can support
$25 can provide a life jacket for a loaner board at an area lake.
$50 can provide water safety education cards to 50 families.
$75 can provide preschool water safety programming to a child in need.
$100 can provide preschool water safety programming to a child in need and a life jacket to a loaner board at an area lake.
